If you have a KML or KMZ file, you can directly open it into CAD using Plex-Earth 5.

To test this function, go on and download the following KML:

Then go on and open a new drawing in CAD.

Use Plex-Earth to georeference it:

A) Go to the "Project" panel of Plex-Earth. B) Click "Set Georeference". C) Choose the "Coordinate System" option. D) Define the following, for our example drawing: "Country" -> USA "Coordinate System" -> WGS84 / UTM18N (EPSG:32618) "Units" -> Meters.

Finally save your drawing.

To import your KML:

  • Click on Import KML/KMZ command

  • Find and open the KML you downloaded above and click OK

  • Choose YES, ZOOM to force CAD zoom to the import
